An incredible story of bravery

I don’t believe I have posted this since my Dad (Thats his picture below) passed away on Memorial Day last May. I have shared the story with a lot of my friends but it never gets old. A friend of mine contacted me over the weekend as the History Channel was doing a show on the battle. This story was written by my Dad w…hile recouperating from injuries sustained druing the Battle of Leyte Gulf and the following 50 hours they spent in the water before being rescued. My Dad was the senior surviving officer and received the Navy Cross for his participation and Commander Evans was killed in action and was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his bravery.
